Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), also known as 2 Factor-Authentication (2FA) adds an additional layer of security on top of your User ID and Password.

You will need a device such as an Android or iOS phone, though it is also possible to use a desktop PC if a phone is not available.

  1. Install an MFA app on your device. These apps generate a six-digit authentication code.
For for Android or iOS/iPhone, Google Authenticator is an option.

Other apps can also be used, if they are compliant with RFC 6238, the standard for the TOTP (Time-Based One-time Password) algorithm.

  2. Log onto MessageXchange, and choose Home / Multi-Factor Auth from the menu. Enter your MessageXchange password and click Submit.

  3. On next page you will get a QR code as well as an alphanumeric key.
On your device, use the MFA app to scan the QR code, or you can enter the key.

  4. You can choose to have MessageXchange to prompt you for the MFA code when logging on, or when you browse to a page that requires it. Choose one of the options and click the Confirm button.
  5. MessageXchange will then prompt you to enter the code from the MFA app on your device, to verify it is working correctly.
